Mr. Motilal Oswal is director at MO Alternates and is the Managing Director and CEO of MOFSL. He is a Chartered Accountant and started the business along with co-promoter, Raamdeo Agrawal in 1987.

Mr. Oswal has served on the Governing Board of the BSE, Indian Merchant’s Chamber (IMC) and has also served on various committees of BSE, NSE, SEBI and CDSL. He has been awarded the Rashtriya Samman Patra by the Government of India for being amongst the highest income tax payers in the country for a period of 5 years.

For his work and contribution to the capital markets, Mr. Oswal has been felicitated with several awards and accolades including:

Mr. Oswal has authored two books of quotations on ‘The Essence of Business & Management’ and ‘The Essence of Life’.

Mr. Raamdeo Agrawal is director at MO Alternates and one of India’s most celebrated investors with more than three decades of investing experience.

Under his leadership, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited (MOFSL) has emerged as a multi-location, multi-business financial services conglomerate. He pioneered the equity research practice at MOFSL, the first by any Indian brokerage house, in the early 90s. Mr. Agrawal’s ‘value investing’ philosophy enables him to pick high-potential small and midcap companies early that eventually become large caps. He drives the annual ‘Wealth Creation Study’ that has become a benchmark document analysing the top 100 wealth creating companies and decoding their success stories. Mr. Agrawal has also been instrumental in creating the Quality, Growth, Longevity and Price (QGLP) framework that forms the core investing philosophy of MOFSL and Motilal Oswal Private Equity.

Mr. Agrawal is member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and a member of the National Committee on Capital Markets of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He has also featured on the ‘Wizards of Dalal Street’ on CNBC-TV18. In 1986, he co-authored, ‘Corporate Numbers Game’, with Mr. Ram K Piparia. He also authored ‘The Art of Wealth Creation’.

Mr. Vishal Tulsyan is Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer and a Chartered Accountant by qualification with two decades of experience as seasoned Asset Management professional in Indian financial services industry across private equity, investment banking and structured finance. As MD & CEO,  Vishal oversees all aspects of the asset management business, including portfolio management services and AIF.  As a dynamic and result oriented leader, he brings to the table keen analysis, insights and a team approach to drive organizational improvements and implementation of best practices.

Vishal founded MO Alternates in 2007 with MOFSL being the holding company. At MO Alternates, he manages the organization and plays a critical role across all sectors, overseeing and assisting the various sector teams. Since inception of MO Alternates, Vishal has been directly involved both in identifying businesses, as well as in supporting portfolio companies. Over the years, he has played a central role in defining the strategies and building a team that has taken MO Alternates to its present levels.
He has built the platform to channelize long-term capital to create valuable enterprises and successful entrepreneurs.

Prior to founding MO Alternates, Vishal was with Rabobank during its formative years in India, helping build its corporate finance and investment banking division. He was responsible for the origination and execution of structured finance, project finance, acquisition finance, private equity and M&A transactions. During his Rabobank tenure, he executed ~50 transactions aggregating more than INR 900 bn and helped build the life sciences practice in India into a key business driver.

Mr Jay Nilesh Mehta is Principal Officer at MO Alternates. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Mumbai University and has earned an MMS (Masters of Management Studies) from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai.

Mr. Jay is responsible for deal sourcing, deal evaluation, financial analysis, deal documentation and portfolio management. He is responsible for the decisions made by the portfolio manager division for the management or administration of portfolio of securities or the funds of the client and operation of PMS division activities.
